8 Tips for Romantic Glamping Getaways

Whether you and your partner’s idea of the ideal holiday is hiking along the coast and learning to kayak, or simply relaxe with a glass of bubbly, Lantern & Larks have got you sorted. In fact, there are countless ways to make sure your next glamping adventure has that loved-up feeling.

We wanted to share some of our favourite tips for making your next couples’ glamping break extra special…

1. Turn off your phones

Couples’ breaks are all about spending time together and enjoying each other’s company. We believe that the best way to do that is to switch off your phone and put it away. Enjoy a walk through the rolling countryside, pop into a local pub or simply sit back and share a conversation… all without the distraction of screens! None of our tents have electricity, so light the fire and a bunch of candles, pour yourselves a drink and take the time to reconnect with that special someone.

2. Go stargazing together

There’s something especially romantic about watching the stars appear overhead as you and your loved one cuddle up under a blanket. Don’t miss our blog on stargazing for more information on how to make the most of our clear skies and dark sites.

3. Cuddle up beside the fire

All of our tents have firepits, so you and your partner can cuddle up beside the flickering flames every evening. And, if the weather turns, there’s also a cosy wood stove in your tent, perfect for creating a firelit haven as the rain patters against the canvas. Simply grab the marshmallows, a cosy blanket and enjoy an evening of romance. Not quite sure how to get started? Make sure to take a look at this blog about starting a campfire.

4. Pop some champagne

Surprise that special someone by pulling out a chilled bottle of champagne or prosecco during your romantic glamping UK holiday. Our tents all have cool boxes with frozen hot water bottles – the perfect place to stash a bottle or two before your romantic evening in. If the time of year is right, you might even be able to find some wild blackberries to pop in your glass!

5. Enjoy a romantic meal al fresco

Speaking of relaxing in the great outdoors, why not share a delicious al fresco meal with your partner? Whether it’s a delightful fireside dinner or a lunch out on the grass, there’s plenty of opportunity to enjoy some delicious food in the fresh air. Why not impress them with your cooking skills as you whip up something tasty over the firepit? We have a lovely selection of recipes to explore on the blog, so you could be dishing up a masterpiece before you know it!

6. Explore somewhere new

Discovering new places together is a fantastic way to enjoy some precious time with your nearest and dearest. Whether you’re exploring the many attractions and picture-perfect towns just a short drive from our sites, or simply taking to the footpaths and seeing what you discover, this is a chance to go exploring with the person you love. Make some memories and end the day feeling tired but accomplished.

7. Take a picnic hamper

Combine outdoor adventures with pure romance by packing a picnic! From tiny sandwiches and salads to grilled meat straight off the firepit, you can pack exactly what you like. All our sites are nestled amongst some gorgeous countryside, so it’s easy to find somewhere to spread out a blanket, crack open a thermos and share a delicious meal together.

8. Watch the sunset together

There’s something rather lovely about finding the perfect spot to watch the sun go down together. Take a short evening stroll, find a hilltop viewpoint or settle down somewhere with a view and watch the colours change as the day comes to an end.

Take a blanket, pour yourselves a drink and leave your phones behind. You don’t need to plan anything elaborate; sometimes the simplest moments are the ones you remember most.

And when the sun has disappeared, you can wander back to your safari tent, light the fire and carry on enjoying your evening together.
