Bleasdale Estate is situated on the western edge of the Forest of Bowland AONB. Just 20 minutes south of Lancaster, the glamping site is located at the end of a private country lane, set amongst the rolling green patchwork of grazing land stitched together by hedgerows, trees and dry-stone walls, with the Bowland Fells as a perfect backdrop – a beautiful place at any time of year.
Our 'glam camping' or glamping site is situated above a private section of the River Brock. Build dams, catch sticklebacks, wander down the sleepy river banks to quiet pools in the dappled shade of the overhanging trees. Or build dens and camps in the wood behind the tents. It's a natural adventure playground for your kids.
From our luxury forset of Bowland camping site, there is direct access to the local footpath network, and you can visit the Stone Age circle located 20 minutes' walk from your tent. A little further on and you reach the open access area of the Bowland Fells where you can walk for miles without seeing a car – or even other people. All this without going near a public road.
For the more intrepid, there are the local cycle networks and bridleways close to the luxury Lantern & Larks Bleasdale glamping campsite. Cycle to the nearby Beacon Fell Country Park from the glamping camp site, or to the pretty village of Chipping with its pubs, cafes and ice cream shop! If this seems a little hard work, there is a business hiring electric bicycles located on the estate - how idle can you get?!
If other forms of transport appeal, there are local horse-riding centres close by and they specialise in taking riders on treks round the local riding network. Or take a cruise on the Lancaster canal from the Barton Grange Garden Centre – only 10 minutes away.
The local wildlife can be stunning with everything from glimpses of deer in the valley below your tents to the famous "sky dancer" or hen harrier on the fells above you. If your tastes run to the more exotic, we have the Bowland Wild Boar Park a 20-minute drive away, and for those keen on catching the local wildlife, there are several fishing lakes in the area, ranging from pike and perch to trout and salmon.
There's really plenty to do when glamping in Lancashire.
For the thrill seekers, we have Blackpool pleasure beach 30 minutes away, along with Blackpool Tower, the Sealife Aquarium, the Zoo and the Sandcastle Waterpark. At Lancaster, there is Lancaster Castle where the trial of the Lancashire witches was held. It is a historic town with wonderful heritage, museums and old-fashioned streets. Our glamping campsite makes an ideal weekend break and base for visiting the surrounding Lancashire cities such as Manchester, Preston and Liverpool.
