Why everyone will love glamping in the UK

Posted by Katy Peck on Jun 05, 2019

There are so many reasons to love glamping. From the family dog to couples or groups of friends, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during a stay in a luxury glamping property. Here we take a look at how a glamping break is perfect for all kinds of people, and the benefits which can come from spending a few comfortable days in the great outdoors.

Why the kids will love glamping

Outdoor games, hide and seek or den building… and that’s before you’ve even left the site! There’s so much for kids during a glamping break. The sense of adventure that can be found in the great outdoors, playing in the fresh air, toasting marshmallows over the firepit and staying up late under the stars. It really is an epic holiday that your little ones will remember for years to come! Have them switch off their devices and step away from the screens – there’s plenty of opportunity to make friends and have fun throughout the site. Even if it rains, there’s a certain magic to stoking up the woodburner and playing games in your cosy tent.

Glamping means you get all of this, whilst still enjoying the little luxuries which make life that little bit easier. Proper beds to tuck the kids up into, hot running water for showers and cooking facilities for whipping up a quick snack… all designed to make sure you and the kids have a truly enjoyable stay.

Why dogs will love glamping

Your four-legged friends are bound to love glamping as well! Many sites are nestled in beautiful parts of the countryside, making them perfect for sniffing out some great walks. Dogs love the chance to explore the great outdoors, discover new places and (most of all) spend quality time with the rest of the family! There’s also plenty of dog-friendly family attractions throughout the UK, so you’re bound to find a few days out that the whole family will love.

There are many reasons why glamping might be more suitable for a dog-friendly break than camping. Firstly, glamping accommodation tends to be more secure than a traditional tent so you don’t have to worry about your pup making an escape in the middle of the night! They’re also more practical, comfortable and crucially, have more space! This means you and your canine companion can relax without getting under each other’s feet (or paws). On hot summer days, glamping tents often stay cooler, and they’re warmer in the winter – perfect for keeping your beloved pet safe and comfortable.

Why mum and dad will love glamping

Don’t forget; the grown-ups need to love their glamping break as well! In fact, more and more parents are choosing glamping breaks rather than traditional camping for their family holiday, and we can see why! When you have young children to take care of, you want to make things as easy as possible. That’s where glamping really comes into its own…

With real beds, proper cooking facilities and your own showers and toilets, there’s a lot less to worry about during a glamping break. Most glamping sites allow you to hire high chairs and cots, so even your littlest guests can enjoy a comfortable holiday (not to mention, you don’t have to worry about packing everything into the car!) A secure and spacious glamping tent also makes it a lot easier to wash, dress and look after young children, meaning you can spend more time enjoying quality time with your family. Even better, the kids will sleep so well in their comfy beds, especially after all that fresh air, that you’ll be able to sit and enjoy a glass of wine around the firepit!

Why couples will love glamping

As romantic getaways go, you can’t go far wrong with a UK glamping break. There’s just something special about spending some quality time with that special someone, far away from the distractions of modern life. Whether you’ve been together for 30 years of 3 months, a romantic trip for two is a great away to relax and reconnect.

After all, what could be more romantic than enjoying a countryside stroll with your loved one, perhaps popping into a cosy local pub on the way? At the end of the day, how about retreating to your luxury glamping site and watching the sun set while you sip champagne? There’s plenty of ways to make your glamping trip extra romantic, from lighting the fire to planning a few surprises for the two of you to share. But taking time just to enjoy each other’s company is the most important, and that’s easy to do when surrounded by the peace and quiet of the UK countryside.

Why groups will love glamping

Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, a stag or hen party… or you just want to spend some time with your nearest and dearest, glamping is great for groups. It’s a great way to bring people together and get active in the great outdoors. Outside of the school holidays, many groups of adults come to enjoy glamping breaks. With this type of holiday available throughout the UK, it’s easier than ever to find a site that suits even the most far-flung friends.

With many glamping sites offering properties with room for several people, everyone can enjoy time together in comfort. If there’s a large group, you could also hire several tents… or even the whole site! It’s a really sociable type of holiday, built around spending time together away from the chaos and stress of everyday life. Many sites are also located close to fun days out and group activities, so you can enjoy some adventures during your break. Alternatively, just sit back and relax or light the fire and share a delicious flame-cooked meal… it’s completely up to you!

Why we love glamping

Here at Lantern & Larks we love glamping because it’s a completely unique holiday that our guests will remember forever. We love seeing people leave our sites just a little bit more relaxed and happier than they arrived. It’s a chance to get back to nature and spend quality time with the people you love... what could be better than that?

Of course, the best way to understand what’s so special about a glamping holiday is to experience one yourself! Book your next break today and discover just why so many people love glamping.
